So many months and so little blogging. This blog was supposed to help me keep track of my progress as a maker, a weaver, a fiber artist and teacher. My resolutions for the past two years have been to make something with my hands every day. And about five days a week I actually do make progress on some textile project.
Several wool blankets for belated birthday gifts.
Holiday season was busy with so many dye days
Reusable gift bags that go on giving. Our goal is to eliminate wrapping paper in by next Christmas.
More raw silk gift bags. In this case dyed with acid fast blue then overdyed purple with shibori technique.
Woven placemats from Mayan Hands, repurposed as gift bags
A whirlwind New Year’s project to use up all my old dye stock with as many techniques as I could try. These are all wools.
He wanted socks for Christmas
handspun out of control
learned that steaming uncontrolled yarn will relax it
Spinning tencel- fun to dye but not my favorite yarn so it will be a cover for a potted plant.
fiber reactive dyes on tencel
Baskets are fun
hexagonal basket in reed stand
Cannot get these colors right in the photo- this is a warm merino vest.
